MUSC Postdoctoral Association (PDA)

Welcome to the MUSC Postdoctoral Association!

The PDA is here to provide support and a voice for the concerns of the Postdoctoral Trainee community at MUSC.

The MUSC PDA is focused on the following areas:

  • Scholarly Learning: This includes inviting outside speakers, organizing workshops, continuing education and giving postdocs opportunities to present their work in local meetings.
  • Networking Activities: This includes formal and informal meetings and gatherings of postdocs. In addition, this includes social activities both at the university and outside of the university. The PDA shall be committed to promoting networking opportunities within and between the postdoc community and faculty.
  • Postdoc Advocacy: The PDA should be a source of information and a sounding board for complaints and concerns. The PDA is a place to pass those concerns on to the appropriate channels; however, the PDA does not, in and of itself, have the authority to alter any policy except its bylaws and governance directly. The PDA interacts with the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs in the College of Graduate Studies and faculty to address concerns.

The MUSC PDA has its at-large membership meeting every 4th Thursday at noon. Locations vary, but reminders are sent frequently to the Postdoc Listserv. If you would like to be included in the Postdoc listserv, please contact Megan Ellison at, and contact the current Postdoctoral Association Executive Board with concerns, questions, and ideas for events.
